Miranda Lambert’s dog Thelma

On July 26, Lambert announced on Instagram that her dog Thelma had passed way. Thelma, who was one-half of a Great Pyrenees pair that Lambert adopted in 2016, “spent her days lounging in the barn and her nights keeping watch over all of us,” Lambert wrote. (The other half of the duo was aptly named Louise.)
The country crooner also shared Thelma and Louise’s adoption story. “May 1 , 2016 I adopted 2 beautiful Great Pyrenees named Thelma and Louise to watch over one of my happiest places on earth. My farm outside of Nashville,” she wrote. “The kitties, chickens and mini horses needed to be looked after and these 2 girls have done that since the day we brought them home.”
Lambert continued, “They rode on my bus all the way from Dallas to Nashville and on that 10 hour drive I fell in love with them. Yesterday, we had to say goodbye to our sweet Thelma…She lived the last 8 years with no fences, just freedom to do what she did best. Love and protect.”

Billie Eilish’s dog Pepper

I don’t have it in me to make a montage or even look at pictures of him yet . Every single part of my house feels like he should be in it. “Words can’t express the lost of my best friend, my protector, my absolutely everything who had sadly passed away today,” she said. “I have no words to say how I’m feeling but numb and shocked.”
Paris Hilton’s Chihuahua Harajuku Bitch

On May 22, Hilton shared that her beloved Chihuahua Harajuku Bitch had passed away at the incredible age of 23.

Seth Rogen’s dog Zelda

In May, Rogen shared the sad news that his 13-year-old dog, Zelda, whom he shared with wife Lauren Miller Rogen, had passed away.
“We said goodbye to our perfect girl Zelda on Thursday, May 4th. She was almost 14 years old,” he wrote on Instagram. “She was truly the most special, magical creature. She taught us about love, resilience, strength and kindness. We loved her more than words can describe.”
The Knocked Up star continued, “Everyone who met her saw what a unique little puppy she was. She’d stare in to your soul with her gigantic buggy eyes. She was so judgmental, that when she loved you, you really knew you earned it, and it made you feel like you had won.”
He also wrote about how the dog blossomed over the years. “She was a girl who was so shy no one adopted her as a baby who became a girl who travelled to multiple countries, appeared in three movies, on two magazine covers, and inspired countless works of Zelda-art…”

Pete Davidson’s dog Henry

Davidson also lost his dog on May 4 and shared the news via the Instagram account of Dave Sirius, a writer on Davidson’s show Bupkis.
“Hey guys. I know today is the Bupkis premiere day but I wanna use today to remember my dog Henry,” he wrote. “Yesterday we lost a key member of the Davidson family. Henry was only 2 years old but unfortunately got very sick very fast. My mom, sister and I got Henry at the beginning of the pandemic and he saved our lives. Not sure I’d even be around without him. He was the happiest and sweetest dog ever. He used to get excited when he saw me and would pee everywhere.”
He added, “My mom, sister and I are broken and will miss him forever. We love you Henry. Thank you for making our lives fuller and reminding me what actually matters.”
Kaley Cuoco’s dog Dump Truck

The Flight Attendant actress and vocal animal advocate bid farewell to her dog Dump Truck in May. She announced her loss on Instagram, starting her tribute with a quote: “A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself,” it read.
“My sweetest Dump Truck, saying goodbye to you has deeply pierced my soul,” Cuoco continued. “You were with me during some of the hardest moments I’ve had in my life. You brought endless joy to everyone that met you, and kissed my nose when I needed it most. You were as special as it gets and I’m so grateful we found each other.”
Cuoco’s partner, Tom Pelphrey, shared his own remembrance on social media, calling his late pack member “a legend.”
Anna Marie Tendler’s dog Petunia

In June, Anna Marie Tendler shared on Instagram that her dog, Petunia, had passed away. The artist’s followers were attached to Petunia themselves, especially after Tendler’s ex-husband, John Mulaney, abruptly ended their marriage in May 2021.
“Rest in peace my sweet Petunia. You were my best friend and the great love of my life,” Tendler wrote. “You were the funniest. You were the smartest. You were the weirdest. Kate Walsh announced her dog Rosie’s passing in April, sharing that her beloved pooch was “15 years and 3 months” old at the time of her death.
“We had so many amazing years together, from the Hollywood Hills to the dog parks of Los Feliz & Encino, to the snowy mountains of Lake Tahoe, to the beaches of Malibu to the streets of NYC & Washington square park, and finally to Perth, where she has endlessly walked & swam the beaches…,” the Grey’s Anatomy star wrote on Instagram.
