Who are the mothers of Mick Jagger’s kids?
Mick Jagger has eight children from five different mothers:
Marsha Hunt
Jagger shares his oldest daughter, Karis Hunt Jagger, with former actress, model and author Marsha Hunt. The couple started dating in secret in 1969, when Jagger was still in a relationship with singer Marianne Faithfull. Legend has it that Jagger was so captivated by Hunt that he penned the Rolling Stone hit “Brown Sugar” as a tribute to the young ingenue.
According to Hunt’s autobiography, Real Life, Jagger proposed they have a child together shortly after they started dating, but then grew distant during Hunt’s pregnancy and failed to show up for Karis’ birth in November 1970. The couple split soon after, in part because Jagger had moved on with another woman (more on her in a minute).
Hunt told the Daily Mail that she didn’t regret her relationship with Jagger (who thankfully went on to build a strong bond with his eldest child). “He was educated. He was a radical,” she said. “He was not the man people think they know now. Somehow, that all gets lost over time.”
Bianca Jagger
The Rolling Stones frontman started dating Bianca Jagger when he was still with Hunt. They married in May 1971, when Bianca was pregnant with their daughter, Jade, and divorced in 1978 after a series of affairs on both sides (but especially his).
“In the first years of our marriage, I played the wife. I was docile and subservient … but groupies weren’t an easy thing to get used to,” Bianca told People in 1977, a year before she filed for divorce on grounds of adultery. “Mick is in some ways misogynist because there are too many women available to him. Mick distrusts women because they are all trying to use him—they are nobodies becoming somebodies.”
Jerry Hall
Jagger met model Jerry Hall in 1976, when she was engaged to musician Bryan Ferry and he was still married to Bianca. By 1977, the affair was on. “My love was so strong I couldn’t do anything but follow Mick wherever he led me,” Hall wrote in her book, My Life in Pictures, as published in an excerpt by the Daily Mail. “I knew he had a reputation as a womanizer and he was still married, even if he hadn’t lived with Bianca for a year, but I was hopeful.”
The couple spent 23 years together—many of them fraught with tension over Jagger’s infidelities, which included a well documented affair with Carla Bruni—and had four children: Elizabeth, James, Georgia and Gabriel. They split for good in 1999, after Luciana Gimenez revealed that she was expecting Jagger’s child. (Although Jagger and Hall married in 1990, they learned upon their breakup that their nuptials weren’t legally blinding.)
Despite the ups and downs of their relationship, the rock-and-roll power couple remains on good terms today. Hall was even on hand to celebrate her ex’s 80th birthday in July 2023.
Luciana Gimenez

Jagger met and impregnated model Luciana Gimenez when he was still married to Hall. Although the two never entered into a serious, longterm relationship, they did develop a friendship that lasts to this day.
“Today is Mick Jagger’s birthday, but for me simply ‘Mick,’ my son’s father, and my friend for 25/26 years,” Gimenez wrote on Instagram in July. “There are so many stories! 🤣Mick is light hearted, cheerful, talented, super funny and a great dad!…Happy Bday Darling!! And for those who say we only saw each other 2 times 😂😂 plenty of pictures in there huh?”
Melanie Hamrick
Jagger is currently in a relationship with American ballerina Melanie Hamrick, the mother of his eighth child. The couple started dating in 2014 and welcomed son Deveraux in December 2016.
“I just remember feeling shock at first. I had never thought about [having kids],” she told You Magazine. “It never crossed my mind. In the world of ballet, not many dancers have babies. You’re always thinking about ballet, ballet, ballet, and not really about having children … When I felt that first heartbeat, I realized there was nothing better in the world.”

In a 2019 interview with the Daily Mail, Lizzy shared that she sometimes draws from her dad’s former stage looks. “I do get a lot of inspiration from his make-up looks from the 1970s, which he doesn’t really go for any more,” she said. “He’s a bit more reserved with his make-up looks on stage these days.” Fortunately, there’s no shortage of photos she can use for reference.
James Leroy Augustin Jagger (Aug. 28, 1985)
James Jagger, the second child of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall, has made a name for himself in the world of entertainment as an actor and producer. One of the 37-year-old’s most notable roles was in the HBO series Vinyl, where he portrayed Kip Stevens, the edgy lead-singer of the fictional punk band, The Nasty Bits. Interestingly, Vinyl was a music drama co-created by Martin Scorsese, Rich Cohen, Terence Winter and—you guessed it—Mick Jagger.

However, his true passion lies in journalism and content creation. Gabriel cut his teeth at The Times and is now the founder and operator of his own media website, “Why Now.” In March 2020, Jagger proudly shared on his Instagram a photo of himself and Gabriel, announcing the website’s launch. He captioned the picture with words of admiration for his son’s achievement, encouraging others to explore the website’s videos and content.

Although his second-youngest doesn’t appear to have launched a career in fashion like several of his siblings, he certainly has a passion for fashion: He attended Paris Fashion Week in January 2022 and was featured in commON magazine in August 2022. Among his siblings, Lucas appears from social media to be particularly close to his sister Georgia May.

Does Mick Jagger have grandchildren?
Mick Jagger is the proud grandfather of five grandchildren—two from his daughter Karis (Mazie and Zak) and three from his daughter Jade (Assisi, Amba and Ray). What’s more, Jagger is also a great-grandfather, as his granddaughter Assisi has three children of her own (Ezra, Romy and River).
“The ties that bind us are stronger than ever, not just within our immediate family, but the Jagger clan as a whole,” Jade once wrote in British Vogue. “My father now has eight children with five partners—a globetrotting support network that seems to be ever expanding. In any given year, the whole lot of us might decamp to the Caribbean for a holiday or hit the road in Europe for a Rolling Stones tour—family gatherings where traditional roles lose all meaning amid the chaos and laughter. As a general rule, we’re too busy trying to find a restaurant that will accommodate several dozen screaming Jaggers for the evening to worry about someone’s place in the family tree.”
